Good news. We have confirmed a August 11, 2009 digital release of Beggars. The digital album will be available exclusively through iTunes. The date of CD release is still pending, but it will contain bonus material. We’ll let you know more about that as soon as we can.

poor megan, everyone needs to just chill. if she doesn’t like the studio version, then she doesn’t like it. it’s completely understandable, and i’ve been in the situation before where you hear something live and it sounds different in the studio. it’s a weird experience. i personally like the studio version of ATWIM, and sure, i disagree with megan’s opinion, but everyone needs to chillax! it’s really not that big of a deal. and personally i think that it’s more inappropriate to be bashing on megan than it is to say that something thrice has written is sloppy. so guys, can’t we just chill??

When I said sloppy I meant the vocal sliding and didn’t clarify that because I was just so heartbroken.
I loooove Dustin’s lyrics and to hear his voice sliding around all over the place just really sounds sloppy compared to the tight music behind it. It’s distracting to me to the point I can’t really focus on the lyrics themselves.
I’m hoping it will grow on me once I have a copy of the real thing (I’m not a leak condoner).
As far as the whole screamy/raw edginess part… I LOVE that Dustin can always find ways to not quite scream and still sing at the same time, which is how this feels live. Not an outright scream.
As far as banning me from this site… HA! If no one speaks up about their opinions, how are Thrice to know how they sound to the fans?
I disagree with people saying it sounds completely tight because obviously, to me, it doesn’t. But I’m certainly not saying YOU should be banned. I’ve been obsessed with Thrice for the last 8 years and have, without a doubt, loved everything I have heard them do thus far. This is the first time I’ve been disappointed by a first spin.

Just listened to All The World Is Mad…legally on myspace…and I can tell that this will be one of those albums that takes a few listens to really wrap your ears and mind around. Like mewithoutYou’s second album, the first listen was like, “Uh, I don’t know…” and by the fifth listen it was amazing. And like the singer of Thursday once called one of their albums a “three or four listen album,” or something like that. The best albums tend to be that way. And on the second listen to Thrice’s new song it’s already growing on me….Sweet!
I look forward to buying a digital AND a hard copy. August 11th? that’s less than two weeks! Stoked!!!
My first time through the album and I’m amazed again for the millionth time about how Thrice can continue to make music that sounds nothing like they’ve ever done before and still blow me away because the songs are littered with talent and creativity.
Definitely waiting for the tour to make its way around to my area!
Yeah I followed your debate on the vox in world is mad. I must say I’m confused. I mean, it is really hard for me, even after some more explanations, to accept the label Sloppy for the vocals in the song. I listened to some live versions on youtube to try to get your point, but still I don’t quite get it. I mean, am I the only one here that is glad the album is not about screaming but more about sweet vocals lines? It sounds like Dustin has a new confidence that makes him sing in a way that makes the song so interesting. Listen to the part from 2min50 to the end, when the melody bends so nicely, I mean, this whole part is based on the voices, and this magic moment would not be if it was not of the way he sings.
And yeah I agree that you have the right to your opinion, but I’m tired that Thrice has always to be compared with their previous records. To me, every new album they make becomes their best. And that is because they have this capability to evolve in such a nice way. And when I hear a new record, the other ones sound “sloppy” to me because the new material outshine the old.
I don’t really know what I’m trying to say, but all I can say is that I’m glad they are not afraid to leave that “screaming” label they had from the past. But I wouldn’t mind songs where they scream you know, I pretty much love everything they do and find some interesting parts in all of their songs. I guess they decide what they want the songs to sound like and they always make the best decision and I don’t like you saying you would prefer it in another way. Because so far, they didn’t disappoint me in any way.

Well, i still think sloppy being used here, but who the hell cares what i think? Nobody, but i dont care, cuz im still gunna tell you that I’ve had favorite songs on Beggar’s so far. Each song is freakin awesome its amazing.

haha proof reading is probably a good idea, i guess. I just meant to say sloppy was kinda strong. I think ever since the arguments about the leak and who’s listened to it and what not the people on here got a lil crazy.
