THRICE RE-RELEASE BEGGARS ON VINYL MAY 20, 2014

Southern California’s THRICE will re-release their 2009 albumBEGGARS on May 20, 2014 on Staple Records/Workhorse Music Group. Having been out of print for four years, this new limited release of 1000 pieces will be available exclusively through the Workhorse Music store. Fans can choose between two colors- 500 pieces will be on red splatter vinyl and 500 on blue splatter vinyl. The package will include a 24-page booklet with liner notes written by the band. Fans can pre-order the vinyl beginning today at http://kingsroadmerch.com/workhorse/

Beggars was Thrice’s sixth studio album and landed the #5 spot on Alternative Press’ “Best Albums of 2009” list. Revolver Magazine praisedBeggars as “a brooding, at times Radiohead-esque post-rock groove with a hint of blues that makes it the band’s most atmospheric record to date.”

Other accolades came from the band’s hometown paper, the OC Register who proclaimed, “Beggars, a step into Radiohead terrain abetted by the increasing dexterity of guitarist Teppei Teranishi, is easily the strongest, most adventurous work of their career.”

PopMatters.com said, “These tracks are constructed with some nuance, but their stark beauty is in the way melodic and rhythmic parts coalesce naturally without complication, like a band united in a rare moment of complete shared vision.” AbsolutePunk added, “a beautifully-crafted album that catches more attention with every listen.”

In 2011, Thrice announced their hiatus after 13 years together and the release of eight full-length albums. Thrice is Dustin Kensrue - vocals/guitar, Teppei Teranishi – guitar/piano, Edward Breckenridge – bass, and Riley Breckenridge – drums.

Amazon “Anthology” Vinyl Update

Good news everybody! We’ve gotten word that all LPs through the band’s pre-order have indeed been shipped. So depending on what part of the country (or world) you live in will determine how quickly you get it. Of course if you don’t get yours within a REASONABLE time frame, please contact Cinderblock directly for support. They’re the ones who shipped them and should be the most help in determining the status of your order. Again, we truly appreciate your patience with the delays and we thank you again for your support!

If you ordered from Amazon, they have issued a “release date” on their LP orders of 11/20. That means that’s the date they project you to have your LPs at your doorstep. Hopefully many of you will see those sooner than that. We apologize profusely for the delays with Amazon.

Thanks guys! We’ll be in touch soon!

Vinyl Update

Hi everyone! We have some updates on the vinyl shipments and wanted to pass them along to you. As some of you may already know, quantities of the LPs started shipping last week. We believe some fans already received theirs. The first batch of 500 went out to the band’s pre-order customers. We expect the rest of those orders to be out the door by the end of this week. We decided to mail the band pre-orders first since those fans were the first to purchase the piece.

Of course if you live on the East Coast yours might take longer to arrive due to Hurricane Sandy, but please know that all of those orders should be out the door by the end of this week.

As for Amazon customers, we are still unsure of when your orders will be going out. The process of filling a retailer’s order takes a little longer. We should have a much better idea of when Amazon will have their copies and when they will start mailing. Also, we’ve been told by Amazon that they will alert their customers once they have a firm ship date. We will continue to work closely with them and ensure they send out such notice.

As always, if you have any questions please contact info@workhorsemusic.com.

Thanks so much for your continued support and patience!

VINYL VERSION OF THRICE ANTHOLOGY RELEASE TO BE DELAYED

We’re extremely sorry and remorseful to report that the Thrice “Anthology” 4-LP Box Sets will not be completed in time for the scheduled October 30 release date. During the set up and pre-sales all deadlines had been reached with the plant, and we were under the impression we would easily have the finished pieces in time. However, the plant just informed us they are running “behind schedule” and the assembly of the boxes is taking longer than they anticipated. Our hearts sank with the news, as we know fans were eager to have them in a timely manner.

We’re aware that fans paid a lot of money for these premium items and we promise we’re on top of the situation. With the bigger LP packages, it seems as though delays are hard to avoid these days.

There is currently no definite date by when they’ll be ready to ship. Once we hear back from the plant, we will immediately get in touch with you and supply updates. Again, we cannot apologize enough and we thank you or your patience! No band values their fans’ loyalty like Thrice and it pains us to let anyone down.

Neither the CD nor digital versions will be affected by the LP delays, and all fans that pre-ordered either configuration should receive them on time. CDs will be available in stores and downloads will be available through all major digital retailers on October 30th as originally planned.

For any questions related to this delay, please contact info@workhorsemusic.com

Pre-Order Update

We have sold out of LP pre-orders of “Anthology” in our webstore.  However, we will be opening up a new pre-order for the LP’s on Amazon.com shortly.  Please keep checking back as we’ll make sure to post the link as soon as it goes live.  Thanks again for all the support!

Thrice drummer Riley Breckenridge previously stated that Anthology “is a live record that is truly live. There are no overdubs, no edits and no pitch corrections. We wanted this to be an honest and accurate representation of a show from our Farewell Tour and a memento for our fans, and that’s exactly what it is.”

The Orange County-based four-piece announced a hiatus last fall after 13 years together and eight full-length releases.  The band recently completed an extensive farewell tour that prompted Billboard to comment, “Thrice in concert, on this tour more than ever, was a career on display.”

Anthology: 2-CD/4-LP Live Record Out October 30th

(August 20, 2012) - “Thrice in concert, on this tour more than ever, was a career on display,” stated Billboard Magazine about the recently completed farewell tour undertaken by Southern California’s THRICE. The Orange County-based four-piece announced a hiatus last fall after 13 years together and eight full-length releases.

“This is a live record that is truly live,” commented drummer Riley Breckenridge.  “There are no overdubs, no edits and no pitch corrections. We wanted this to be an honest and accurate representation of a show from our Farewell Tour and a memento for our fans, and that’s exactly what it is.”

Along the tour, live audio was recorded at select stops and has now been compiled into Anthology, which will be released on Staple Records/Workhorse Music Group October 30, 2012. The live recording features 24 songs and will be available digitally, on two CDs, and as a limited edition box set containing four LP’s. The LP box set is limited to just 3000 stamped and numbered pieces and will include a 24-page booklet along with 2 black LP’s and 2 white LP’s all on 180 gram vinyl.  The track listing and pre-order details will be announced in the coming weeks.

A must-have item for collectors, MTV noted in their show review that, “the group covered their vast catalog with a lengthy set list, which was created using fan’s votes on the band’s website, that left the mourning crowd wanting more,” while the band’s hometown daily paper, the O.C. Register added, “…an epic performance culled from all points in their catalog that will loom large in their legend — and their career in general, which had reached personal-best peaks with the last two albums, 2009’s turning point Beggars and its tension-filled follow-up Major/Minor, from last September.”

Thrice released their first proper full-length, Identity Crisis, in 2001 and quickly stormed to the forefront of the indie music scene as listeners rejoiced and formed what can only be described as a cult following. Thrice went on to release six highly praised albums – fan favorites The Illusion Of Safety (2002), The Artist In The Ambulance (2003) and Vheissu (2005), the brilliant and intricate four-piece concept album The Alchemy Index: Fire and Water (2007) and Earth and Air (2008), and the band-centric masterpiece, Beggars (2009). Thrice released their most recent full length, Major/Minor, last September on Vagrant Records.  Thrice has become a staple in the alternative-modern-rock world for nearly ten years now and is known for effortlessly and continuously releasing groundbreaking records.

TOUR UPDATE

Hey friends,
It blows our minds that we have sold through five hometown shows (including LA) on this Farewell tour.  We are truly humbled by that fact, and we’re truly grateful for the outpouring of support you’ve shown us.  Despite having five hometown shows, we’ve noticed that many people have mentioned that they were unable to get tickets to these shows.  That said, we’ve decided to add one final SoCal show on this tour at the Observatory on June 19th.  It will be us on our own, no support bands, and we’ll be breaking the set up into two pieces separated by a special acoustic intermission.  As many of you know, cancer has affected each of our lives recently, and we felt it would be fitting to donate a portion of the proceeds from this show to StandUp2Cancer.
We hope you can make it out, and can’t thank you enough for making this all possible.
Love,
Thrice

Hey guys!

On Friday we announced a pre-sale for two additional hometown shows.  Due to the overwhelming demand, a lot of people didn’t get the opportunity to purchase tickets in time so we wanted to try and accommodate as many people as we could.

We also announced that we’ll be recording portions of the tour for a live album that is scheduled to be released early in the Fall.  More details to come.  Tour is just a few days away now.  We’re really looking forward to seeing all of you soon.

hermitologist:

Thrice has been working very closely with Invisible Children for about six or seven years now.

It’s been an honor to work with them.

This is their new movie.

Please watch it. And after you watch it, act on it.

It’s not hard to get involved. Let’s do this, people.

Thank you for the thank you

Sometimes you receive a gift so beautiful and thoughtful that you hardly know what to do or say.  This is one of those times.

Our close friends at Invisible Children just sent us a couple videos of members from two of their initiatives—kids from the Legacy Scholarship Program and women from the Mend program—who wrote and sang songs directly for us and our friends in Circa Survive and Edward Sharpe, thanking us for our work and support.  We hardly deserve such an incredibly beautiful gift, and all we can say is - thank YOU.  Your tenacity and unrelenting hope, courage, faith, and love continue to be a daily inspiration for all of us.

We’ve been working really closely for a number of years now with Invisible Children and we’ve never been able to see the fruits of our labor so tangible as this.  It really sheds a new light and reinvigorates our fire to support this incredible organization and the causes for for which they stand.

Humbly,

Teppei/Thrice
