Philly

June 23rd, 2010

We are in Philly. Bus generator has bit the bullet. Evacuated to club. Finished downloading new digital piano. Must find a cheesesteak.
In other news, I stumbled onto a really cool record. The Speakers put out an album called “Yeats is Greats.” The whole album takes poems by William Butler Yeats and puts it to some subtle and beautiful tunes. I dig it.
Thanks to everyone who is coming out to the shows; they have been a blast thus far. See some of you out in Philly tonight.

I guess these are all the dates now. And sadly it’s the usual “cities we are safe to play” and the festivals, which is a shame :( Now we Europeans ( Europe is not just Germany, UK, and sometimes the Benelux) will have to wait at least another year for a proper tour (if it’s ever happen again), while way smaller bands can tour all over the place. I know Thrice loses money, others too, but at least they come…

  12. LikeLinus says:

when i met the band, teppei told me that he loved sweden and scandinavia and that they would love to come there. But i wonder why it´s never happen? It´s unfair when just germany can have like 5 shows and the whole scandinavia zero. well it think we will have to wait a little longer!

  13. Lukas says:

Well I think the problem is that they can’t sell out those shows… Germany is one of the biggest music markets in the world…

    Tom.
yeah um pretty much you dont gotta be a dick about it. i was just hoping ryan could expound on how it went down, but whatever.

  15. Ryan says:

Chase, my gf and i met him outside the Ft. Lauderdale show and got to talk for a few minutes. In retrospect I’d probably ask to hear something rarer but it was great seeing it live.

  16. Tom says:

@Chase Hey I was just gently teasing, wasn’t trying to be unpleasant, sorry if I touched a nerve, really didn’t mean to cause offence, I’m sorry.

  17. Tom says:

Just seen the Electric Ballroom date… Yes. thanks guys, holiday form filled in, tickets will be purchased at lunch.

    YES.

  18. Chase says:

    @tom
no worries my man, no big deal.

  19. Michael v says:

    new post please!

  20. Roger says:

Please, if somebody of the band read this:

Don´t support Blink in Hamburg or somewhere else when you come to Germany. Play some headline shows. We can only see you once in 2 years and I don´t want it @ a Blink show.

No offense to Blink fans on this board.

Second time I saw you guys – I love the apocalyptic setlist. You guys killed it royally. I was front and center with my wife and one of my best friends – thanks guys.

Just to let you know how you encouraged me specifically that night… Before I got married (May 15th), I left my band in order to free myself up to grow with my wife in the early months of our marriage. Watching your opening acts reminded me of band life, going on tour, and playing that stage (Troc main) a couple of years ago. Needless to say, I was aching in my nostalgia. When you guys played, those thoughts left and I was really able to enjoy the music/lyrics. Thanks again, gentlemen.

Just got back from the show at the Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK a minute ago. STELLAR performance. I don’t know who really handles the booking or how locations are decided, but I want to thank you all so much for coming back this year. I caught you when you were supporting Brand New last October, and it blew me away. This time you were the main attraction, and I was completely satisfied. Summer has proven to be fairly uneventful for me thus far, but this show will be enough to make this entire year memorable. My heart almost stopped when you guys went in on “Artist In The Ambulance”. Honestly, I can’t think of anything that would’ve made me happier than seeing you guys perform as a cohesive unit while you made the ground shake tonight. Your skills did not go unrecognized. THANK YOU once again. And once my hearing comes back, I’m off to listen to your older releases (I heard some songs that I knew were older, but I didn’t recognize them). Thrice for life.
