Amazon "Anthology" Vinyl Update

Good news everybody! We’ve gotten word that all LPs through the band’s pre-order have indeed been shipped. So depending on what part of the country (or world) you live in will determine how quickly you get it. Of course if you don’t get yours within a REASONABLE time frame, please contact Cinderblock directly for support. They’re the ones who shipped them and should be the most help in determining the status of your order. Again, we truly appreciate your patience with the delays and we thank you again for your support!

If you ordered from Amazon, they have issued a “release date” on their LP orders of 11/20. That means that’s the date they project you to have your LPs at your doorstep. Hopefully many of you will see those sooner than that. We apologize profusely for the delays with Amazon.

Vinyl Update

Hi everyone! We have some updates on the vinyl shipments and wanted to pass them along to you. As some of you may already know, quantities of the LPs started shipping last week. We believe some fans already received theirs. The first batch of 500 went out to the band’s pre-order customers. We expect the rest of those orders to be out the door by the end of this week. We decided to mail the band pre-orders first since those fans were the first to purchase the piece.

Of course if you live on the East Coast yours might take longer to arrive due to Hurricane Sandy, but please know that all of those orders should be out the door by the end of this week.

As for Amazon customers, we are still unsure of when your orders will be going out. The process of filling a retailer’s order takes a little longer. We should have a much better idea of when Amazon will have their copies and when they will start mailing. Also, we’ve been told by Amazon that they will alert their customers once they have a firm ship date. We will continue to work closely with them and ensure they send out such notice.

Double Live Album To Be Released Tuesday, October 30

(October 26, 2012) – THRICE announce the launch of an auction to benefit the charitable organization, Stand Up To Cancer. The Southern California group will be auctioning off one complete set (4 LPS) of test pressings of their about-to-be-released Anthology box set. The test pressings are just one of four sets in existence and will be on black 180-gram vinyl. The set will be signed by the band and will have white cardboard jackets. 100% of the final sale price will support Stand Up To Cancer – an initiative to which Thrice donated to at the end of their recent farewell tour. The group chose Stand Up To Cancer since each of the members have recently seen family members lose the fight to cancer.

Last year Thrice announced their hiatus after 13 years together and the release of eight full-length albums. The band undertook a farewell tour earlier this year and live audio was recorded at select stops and has now been compiled into Anthology. Set to be released on Staple Records/Workhorse Music Group on October 30, 2012, the live recording features 24 songs and will be available digitally, on two CDs, and as a limited edition box set containing four LP’s. VINYL VERSION OF THRICE ANTHOLOGY RELEASE TO BE DELAYED

We’re extremely sorry and remorseful to report that the Thrice “Anthology” 4-LP Box Sets will not be completed in time for the scheduled October 30 release date. During the set up and pre-sales all deadlines had been reached with the plant, and we were under the impression we would easily have the finished pieces in time. However, the plant just informed us they are running “behind schedule” and the assembly of the boxes is taking longer than they anticipated. Our hearts sank with the news, as we know fans were eager to have them in a timely manner.

We’re aware that fans paid a lot of money for these premium items and we promise we’re on top of the situation. With the bigger LP packages, it seems as though delays are hard to avoid these days.

There is currently no definite date by when they’ll be ready to ship. Once we hear back from the plant, we will immediately get in touch with you and supply updates. Again, we cannot apologize enough and we thank you or your patience! No band values their fans’ loyalty like Thrice and it pains us to let anyone down.

Neither the CD nor digital versions will be affected by the LP delays, and all fans that pre-ordered either configuration should receive them on time. CDs will be available in stores and downloads will be available through all major digital retailers on October 30th as originally planned.

Hey friends,

It blows our minds that we have sold through five hometown shows (including LA) on this Farewell tour. We are truly humbled by that fact, and we’re truly grateful for the outpouring of support you’ve shown us. Despite having five hometown shows, we’ve noticed that many people have mentioned that they were unable to get tickets to these shows. That said, we’ve decided to add one final SoCal show on this tour at the Observatory on June 19th. It will be us on our own, no support bands, and we’ll be breaking the set up into two pieces separated by a special acoustic intermission. As many of you know, cancer has affected each of our lives recently, and we felt it would be fitting to donate a portion of the proceeds from this show to StandUp2Cancer.

We hope you can make it out, and can’t thank you enough for making this all possible.

Hey guys!

On Friday we announced a pre-sale for two additional hometown shows. Due to the overwhelming demand, a lot of people didn’t get the opportunity to purchase tickets in time so we wanted to try and accommodate as many people as we could.

Sometimes you receive a gift so beautiful and thoughtful that you hardly know what to do or say. This is one of those times.

Our close friends at Invisible Children just sent us a couple videos of members from two of their initiatives—kids from the Legacy Scholarship Program and women from the Mend program—who wrote and sang songs directly for us and our friends in Circa Survive and Edward Sharpe, thanking us for our work and support. We hardly deserve such an incredibly beautiful gift, and all we can say is - thank YOU. Your tenacity and unrelenting hope, courage, faith, and love continue to be a daily inspiration for all of us.

We’ve been working really closely for a number of years now with Invisible Children and we’ve never been able to see the fruits of our labor so tangible as this. It really sheds a new light and reinvigorates our fire to support this incredible organization and the causes for for which they stand.

Farewell Tour Details, Tickets, & Song Poll

Hey folks,

By now you’ve probably heard that we announced the dates for our “Farewell Tour” this May/June with Animals As Leaders (and another very special guest). If you missed those dates, you can find them here. If you’d like to buy tickets, you can do that here. Ticket pre-sales began yesterday and tickets will be made available to the general public on Thursday March 1. We’d be honored and thankful if you’d join us for one (or more) of the shows on this last tour for the foreseeable future. Please don’t delay, because these tickets will go quickly.

It’s never been easy for us to decide what to play on tour. And now, with eight LPs and a handful of B-sides and covers under our collective belts, and given the circumstances of this tour, it’s as daunting a task as it’s ever been.

An announcement from Dustin

Thrice is not breaking up. If nothing has broken us up by now, I doubt anything ever could.

However, we will be taking a break from being a full-time band, and the upcoming tour in the Spring will be the last one for the foreseeable future.

Playing music for the past 13 years with Riley, Ed, and Teppei has been such a gift. We have been able to see the world, share music with thousands and thousands of people, and make records with a variety of talented and inspiring people. The four of us have been through many highs and lows and overcome them together. I value their friendship, and it has been a great priviledge to play alongside them for so long. They are truly an amazingly gifted group of people, and the ways we’ve grown together as people and musicians has been a joy to experience.

Along the way we have adapted to many changing situations, especially the growing families of both Teppei and myself, but it has been harder and harder for me with each step. I have three little girls now under the age of 5, and it is a huge strain on my family and I when I’m away for several weeks at a time. The way we’ve been doing things for a while is simply not sustainable for me anymore.

I don’t know what the future looks like for Thrice, or for any of us individually. I do know that I would love to make more music in the future with them, as well as play some shows or short tours, but for the time being, I need to step out of the role of full time touring/recording musician, and will do so after this tour. I will continue to make music in various capacities I’m sure, and continue in my work as a Worship Director at Mars Hill Church in Orange County.

I know this will be very disappointing news to many people, and for that I am truly sorry. The amount of support and love we’ve been given in our career is staggering and overwhelming. I know I’m biased, but I think we have the best fans in the world.

This upcoming tour should be a lot of fun. We are planning for it to be somewhat of a celebration of the last 13 years and I’m sure we’ll be breaking out a bunch of songs that have been buried in the archives. I hope to see you out there to celebrate with us.

I never expected to be able to do any of this, let alone do it for 13 years, with such amazing bandmates, such gifted and hard working crew and management, and such incredible and loyal fans.

Halloween shows are always a special time in the Thrice camp, and this one was as good or better than any of the prior years. A chaotic blend of latex masks, loud music, sweat and bad beer. Good times all around.
